In the serene Taoist temple, a gentle breeze blows, bringing a touch of tranquility and peace. The disciples sit around the Taoist priest, listening to the sounds of nature and realizing the true meaning of life. At this moment, a gust of wind blows, and flowers fall one after another, like a magnificent rain of flowers, sprinkling on the earth.
The disciple looked at the falling petals, a trace of melancholy rising in his heart, and asked, "When the flowers wither, is spring over?" This question, like a small stone, was thrown into the calm lake, creating ripples.
The Taoist priest raised his head slightly, looked at the flying petals in the sky, and said slowly, "When the flowers wither, it's not the end of spring. Instead, spring is on a long journey. On her journey, flowers are blooming in different places, leaves are turning green, grass is turning green, swallows are flying, and butterflies are dancing." The Taoist priest's words, like clear spring water, flowed into the disciples' hearts, bringing a glimmer of comfort and inspiration.
In Taoist thought, the cycle and change of nature are often emphasized. Just as it is said in the "Tao Te Ching": "The Tao gives birth to one, one gives birth to two, two gives birth to three, and three gives birth to all things." All things have their processes of growth, development, decline, and regeneration. The departure of spring does not mean an end but a natural transformation and transition. Just like the change of seasons, winter passes and spring comes, and flowers bloom and fade, which are all laws of the universe.
On the journey of spring's departure, nature is still full of vitality. Flowers are blooming in different places, adding a touch of gorgeous color to the earth; leaves are tender and green, as if telling the vigor of life; grass is green and grows tenaciously, showing tenacious vitality; swallows are soaring in the air, bringing news from afar; butterflies are dancing in the flowers, interpreting the beauty and agility of life. These scenes are all footprints left by spring and gifts given to us by nature.
The disciples listened to the Taoist priest's words and thought deeply. One of the disciples asked again, "Then when will spring come back?" This question is full of expectation and longing, as if chasing a glimmer of hope.
The Taoist priest smiled and replied, "When winter comes, when we feel the coldest, we can hear the footsteps of spring." The Taoist priest's words are like a bright lamp in the darkness, illuminating the disciples' way forward.
In Taoist thought, the balance and transformation of yin and yang are also emphasized. Winter represents the extreme of yin, while spring represents the recovery of yang. When winter comes, all things wither, and the earth is silent. But in this silence, there is new vitality and hope. Just as it is said in the "Book of Changes": "When yin reaches its extreme, yang is born. When yang reaches its extreme, yin is born." At the coldest moment, the seeds of spring are already quietly gestating, waiting for the right time.
When we feel that life is in trouble and seem to be in the cold winter, we cannot lose confidence and hope. Because at this dark moment, the footsteps of spring are approaching quietly. We must learn to wait patiently, believe in the power of life, and believe that spring will definitely come back again.
The disciples' eyes were full of expectation and asked again, "What will spring bring back to us?" This question is like a beautiful dream, blooming in the disciples' hearts.
The Taoist priest pondered for a moment and said, "Spring will bring back red flowers, green leaves, green grass, bring back the gentle spring breeze, bring back the bright sunshine, bring back warmth and beauty, bring back vitality and hope. So, when we can't see the spring of life for a while, we must firmly believe that it's not the end of spring but a long journey of spring." The Taoist priest's words are like the gentle breeze of spring, warming the disciples' hearts.
What spring brings back is not only the beauty of nature but also a spiritual power. Red flowers symbolize enthusiasm and vitality, green leaves represent vitality and growth, and green grass implies tenacity and perseverance. The gentle spring breeze, like a gentle touch, gives us comfort and encouragement; the bright sunshine illuminates our way forward and makes us feel the warmth and beauty of life. The vitality and hope brought back by spring let us see the light in the predicament and inspire our motivation to move forward.
In the journey of life, we often encounter various setbacks and difficulties, as if we are in the cold winter. But we must not forget that spring is always in our hearts. As long as we stick to our beliefs and keep hope, spring will definitely come back again. Just like what Taoism advocates "governing by doing nothing", it is not doing nothing but conforming to the laws of nature and taking action at the right time. When we face difficulties, we should not be eager for success but calm down and wait for the right moment.
Just like the stories of many famous Taoists in history. Zhuangzi can still maintain inner peace and freedom in his poor life and use his wisdom and humor to resolve the hardships of life. He is like the messenger of spring, passing on hope and strength in difficulties. And Laozi, with his concise and profound words, expounded the essence of Taoist thought and left precious spiritual wealth for future generations. Their stories tell us that no matter how difficult life is, we must maintain an optimistic and upward heart and believe that spring will definitely come again.
In this noisy world, we are often troubled by material desires and external pressures and forget the inner peace and hope. But when we stop, listen to the sounds of nature, and realize the wisdom of Taoism, we will find that spring has never left us. It is always in our hearts, waiting for us to discover and feel.
Let us, as the Taoist priest taught, not be sad when the flowers fall because spring is on a long journey; not be desperate when winter comes because the footsteps of spring are already nearby; not give up in the predicament of life because spring will definitely bring back vitality and hope. Let us carry the expectation of spring, stick to our inner beliefs, and welcome the return of spring in the journey of life.
